What the hell is that?

You’re reading your favorite magazine or newspaper and they put a funny doted box thing at the end of the article. Soon you start to discover it every ware. Well, it’s called a QR code. The QR stand for the words; Quick Reference. Smart phones have applications (programs) that can read them and go directly to the internet for more information. Now if you would like to get more information on an article you are reading, a quick scan of the QR code will link you to the internet. QR is starting to pop up on the internet as a method of transferring from your home computer to your mobile smart phone. You will start to see QR codes on products at Best Buy and OfficeMax. This will help the consumer to shop for the best options and price. It is also being used by Amazon to help you order products directly from printed advertisements. The technology is almost exclusive for the mobile smart phone market. Unfortunately not all retailers understand this and they direct internet links to standard web pages. Most smart phone browsers cannot handle the average internet web page. However, don’t be discouraged about trying this out; eventually retailers will have a mobile site compatible with your smart phone.
Orlando Brewing has a mobile site and is starting to use the QR codes in our online and printed materials. With a quick scan of the QR code in this article your smart phone will be liked to our mobile site.

Orlando Brewing bar codes (UPC’s) on its cases, 6-packs and bottles are now listed on the web for complete information sheets though our mobile site. If you have a mobile smart phone that can use a compatible code scanning program (app) and has scanning capabilities, give it a try.

Welcome to Orlando Brewing on Facebook

Orlando Brewing Partners, Inc. often referred to as just Orlando Brewing (so we don’t sound like a law firm) or just OB for short. Many others think we should add something to the name like company or corporation. We just want you to think about what our name is asking you. Maybe, what’s brewing in Orlando? Can we really brew a city or what?... Orlando Brewing has taken on a life of its own, with personality and attitude. We are so glad you are a part of what’s brewing in Orlando.

Orlando Brewing has set up a site on Facebook to manage our official Facebook "place" page. The wall page here is open to our friends. The cross-talk links and postings are not necessarily brewery related. We have a sister site page (place page) at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Orlando-Brewing/331854062326. We encourage you to visit it for brewery specific subjects and information on Orlando Brewing. If you ever have and questions about the brewery, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Thank You,

Pint For A Pint

Orlando Brewing has partnered with Florida's Blood Centers to "Educate the Public One Pint at a Time" about the the need for Blood donations.

Why Give Blood?
There is no substitute for blood. It has to come from one person in order to give to another. A critical number of voluntary donations are required every day to meet the need for blood in the areas we serve. However, we are consistently falling short, and falling short means we may not have enough blood for someone like you.

What do I have to do?
Making an appointment is easy. Click on the link below. Once you get to the website enter you email address and date of birth. If you have used the online appointment system before your information will display for your approval. If you have not used our online system before, you can fill out the form with some basic information that the blood bank will need. Then click the "Continue and View Blood Drives" button. You will see our blood drive. If you went to the site without using the link and don't see our drive enter M82N where it asks for the sponsor code. Click the circle to the left of the day you would like your appointment. On the next page, pick a time. Then you will receive an email confirming your appointment.

CLICK HERE now to make your appointment.

Question and Comments:
If you have any questions about donating blood, please contact Florida's Blood Centers or visit their Website at www.floridabloodcenters.org If you have any questions about the blood drive, contact the site coordinator at george@orlandobrewing.com.

Biramisu

With the inspiration of Chef Tony Mantuano, Chef/Partner at Spiaggia, and the collaboration of Portobello Executive Chef, Steven Richard, they have created an innovative dessert call biramisu. Just in time for Oktoberfest, the biramisu is Portobello’s very own variation of the traditional tiramisu. The biramisu incorporates a local organic porter from Orlando Brewing in a one of a kind dessert that I am sure you will agree is uniquely superb. Rachelle Lucas, provided a detailed overview of the biramisu that can be viewed at Inn the Kitchen. You can find out what ingredients are used in the creation of the biramisu as well as view photographs of Chef Steve in action.  See how our chef combines all these ingredients into the unique biramisu presentation and learn more about the porter selected for this revolutionary dessert.
